Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state's new excise policy has led to a significant increase in revenue collection. In the financial year 2024–25, the Excise Department collected ₹4,360 crore in revenue, which is ₹1,100 crore more than in 2021–22.

Today in Jaipur, liquor traders closed their respective shops and staged a protest outside the Excise Office. The traders demanded an extension of shop operating hours for liquor sales and an end to the trend of unlawful harassment by the police administration.
